Thats right y'all, we are still calling it Whatchu Think Wednesdays. You'll grow to love it. Our third installment of guest bloggers brings you Miss. LexieBlacklock. Lexie enjoys fake-quoting Disney movies, vodka gimlets and dressing like Lydia from Beetlejuice (among other things). She takes rad pictures and listens to rad music, check out her review on planningtorock after the jump.
i like a dramatic vocal, an eerie halloween melody, a thick thumping
bass. i like a really severe combo of all of these said things. like,
a tune that really makes your body lurch a slight but steady degree.
and maybe its appropriate, even if tiresome, to compare this to the
beat of a heart. that is, (for now) one at rest.
but a beat that eventually climbs up to its maximum rate because
there are sounds running around so freaking theatrically with
obnoxiously long strides, increasingly faster and better, as if the
crescendo is miles and miles away. but, we'll get there.
and just before the beat (and some confetti, in my case) settles, it
crashes down on you like it's some sort of pompous fucking tidal wave.
it totally envelopes you and maybe it even tries to drown you, but
youre too high and on the crest of it to get taken, and honestly you
dont even care if it does.
so, enter planningtorock's new album W. ironically the first track is
called doorway. so, enter. push or pull. kick, chop. whatever, its a
fucking swinging door. it's music sex. im mad about it and im not mad
about it.
